“What
About Love”
Through the years as a 54 year old woman I do not think I fully understood love in the beginning of my marriage of 36 years. When I think back of how God has miraculously delivered us from the fate of divorce, I have nothing but praise to the Lord. God has done a wonderful work in both our lives and we cling as He has spoken to us in his Word. Yes, even though we were surrendered to Jesus Christ Lordship in our home, we still struggled with ourselves. You’re probably asking yourself, how could this struggle be happening in the lives of God’s people? It really isn’t that difficult when you think of how sin entered in when we were created. Love is very mysterious to me and I haven’t quite figured out why it grows so cold in some relationships. I realize it is a matter of choice but so many good covenants get tossed in the court room garbage can. That is very sad to me because in my experience, God can take our trash and restore it completely. No, I am not speaking of love as trash but sometimes we bring trash into the relationship. Unless we allow the Lord to filter and clean it up it rears its ugly head. The sad part is that most of the time it is destroyed because the trash just stinks up the whole relationship. In I Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 “Charity(love) suffereth long, and is kind; charity(love) envieth not; charity(love) vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things,” “And now abideth faith, hope, and charity(love), these three; but the greatest of these is charity(love.)” Love when put to the test must endure. Why?
For this is God’s will in order for marriage to be sanctified.
I believe we all can have the love of a lifetime
when we take God’s Word to practice. Thank you Jesus for giving us “Agape” love. Help us to learn in our homes how to practice this love so when we go outside in the world and be living witnesses... "Happy Anniversary my sweetheart"
