The greatest gift we can give to another human being on our planet is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I think back through the years I have heard many excuses why a person can’t but never has someone said to me this is why I must share.

In God’s Word we are commanded: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:19-20

Let’s look at reasons we don’t share the gospel as we are commanded to do.

“Excuses”

a. I don’t speak well. Haven’t we read where someone in the Word said the same thing? Moses told God he didn’t speak eloquent enough to talk before the Israelites. So God called Aaron to speak on behalf of Moses. Do you want to miss the calling to tell others?
b. I don’t know the Bible enough. The one witness that should speak through you is the Holy Spirit. Yes, you can depend on the Holy Spirit to speak for you. It is all in the matter of trusting the Lord. So when that excuse starts to brew fear in your heart, go into immediate prayer and speak forth what God would have you share.
c. I am not living right. This is the greatest lie the devil plants in your mind that will hinder your witness. We all sin and have fallen short of God’s glory but we are saved by Jesus Christ’s blood. We must be confessed up every moment so as the Holy Spirit speaks to us our hearts can feel clean. It is then we are able to be ready at all times to share Jesus.
d. The church I go to is really messed up. Why would I invite anyone there if we can't even get it together? He knows our faults yet 80% of our life is lived out in the world. We cannot let circumstances rule our hearts today because one more person will miss hearing the gospel.

Today it is urgent that we pray for the lost and be ready to share. I know in my life I have lost precious moments to share or lead someone to Jesus Christ. I am very aware when it happens because there is such an unsettling in my soul when I have lost the most blessed opportunity.
