LESSON 8

Read Psalm 46:1-3 "No matter what comes my way God will be my refuge,strength, and help in all myh troubles."
Read Psalm 139 "God is ever present with me and knew me and knows me before I even speak. I may try and hide from him but he is there. I can run from him but he is there. I can sing to him and he is there. God is ever present with me because He has called me by name.
How does it make you feel after reading it? It is so hard to comprehend God's infinite love for me. I feel so unworthy to know how much He loves me even when I want to run into a hiding place. But God is wonderful and merciful for when he searches my heart he reveals to me my utter dependance on Him is my way to everlasting life. God is very good and so worthy of praise and worship. I don't do it enough. When I read such scripture that shows me He is all powerful and all knowing I see how much I need to depend on him in daily life.

LESSON 9

Chapter 9 God's Promise of Friendship
You prepare a table before.....
You annoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over


When did you realize God was your friend? I believe as I look back that Jesus sought me but I did not understand. I feared him more than understood why he came to us. When I was saved I realized God was more than a friend, He was my Savior and Lord. That He loved me unconditionally and understood my emptiness in my heart.

Do you consider God your true & best friend? Absolutely, Jesus is the reason why I am alive today. I can totally depend on him through this life.
Friends will come and go during our lifetime.
What does the Bible say about God in the following verses?
John 15:5 "Jesus is the vine and I am a branch. I am to remain in Him so that I may bring forth fruit. I cannot accomplish his will for my life without him."
Ps 107:8-9 "I must praise my God for all he has done, for his goodness, and how he cares for his children. He truly satisfies my sounl and fills it overflowing with goodness." Any goodness is from above that is why I can praise and worship my God.
Jeremiah 31:3 "God loves me with an everlasting love: for with his lovingkindness he has called me by name." He daily draws me into his arms.
Isaiah 54:10 "The world as we know it can depart and be removed but my God's kindness shall not leave me, for his covenant of peace shall never leave me. For God has great mercy to those who are his."
Hebrews 13:5 "Be careful with the words I use. I am to be content in my daily life. God tells me he will never leave me or forsake me." Oh, Jesus thank you for always being present with me.
Joshua 1:8 "I must meditate on God's Word daily and obey what is written in the Word. For the promise He has is blessings of prosperity and success. In other words, God will order my steps when I obey him. He will bless my life when I do according as he instructs."
Psalm 118:6 "The Lord is on my side so why should I fear what a man can do to me?" I have truly come a long way in my personal life through this scripture. I praise you Lord for taking my fear away.

What are the things that keep you from seeing God as your friend? "Nothing." I know God is my friend.

Share about a time you invited a friend over.
How did you feel about it? "Nervous, I am not good or comfortable having people over. But God is showing me to be more open and open my world up to others. In other words, do not fear man."
Were you excited? Yes, it kinda got me sick. I don't do well but am improving.Did you go out of your way to make her feel blessed? "Did my best."

What have you learned from this lesson? "That God is with me and will order my steps in all things. Also, how do I prepare to meet him in my daily life. Do I remove distractions? Do I get ready to hear what he is going to say to me? Do I listen? Do I trust him to meet my daily needs? Do I obey him when he points out my sins or attitudes I need to repent of? Then do I receive his cleansing and praise and worship him?

What are some of the blessings God has given you? "A godly home, husband, children, and a group of friends who love me. His love, his salvation, his Word, and his presence. He has supplied all our needs. Called me to teach and even challenges me to come out of my cocoon."
