Chapter 6 God's Promise of Guidance

How many times have we gone off the path? I go off the path every time I don't pray, study, or seek the Lord. This life has so many distractions and sometimes I have to admit, I go off into my own little world.

How does God call you back on path? He calls me back with such a gentle voice. My heart and mind hears and I know my relationship with Him needs restoration. I put my Bible on the kitchen table and so when I walk by it God calls me to open it up and learn of Him. God usually will show me sin in my life or an attitude I have taken. When my heart is heavy He calls me to himself.

Read Jeremiah 23:5,6 God did raise up a righteous branch of David and for that I praise him for the free gift from heaven. Salvation through Jesus Christ.

How are you changing into His character? My life is constantly being changed. When I was first saved I never realized how much God would change my heart and show me his righteousness. I cannot comprehend how much work he has done and how much more he will do before I go home with him. Going back when I was a young woman there was so much turmoil inside me and now today it is pretty much gone, God has absolutely cleanse that part of me.

Say a prayer to God asking Him to show you the way He wants you to go. Lord Jesus I cannot do one thing without you. In my life Lord I desire to go on the path you have set before I was born. Show me in my home life, church life, family life all that you would desire me to do. Help me to not fear but learn to trust you more. Change my heart Lord to serve you throughout my daily life. Thank you Lord that you would entrust me to serve you. In Jesus Name. AMEN

Chapter 7 God's Promise of Presence
"Yea though I walk through the valley of shadow of death,
I will fear no evil for You are with me" 23:4



Look up Hebrews 13:4-6 "The marriage bed is honorable and must not be defiled. For when one violates their marriage bed by adultry or unclesn sexual acts God will judge. Our words must be pure and not selfish. We must be satisfied with what God has given us for God promises he will never leave or forsake me. When we totally trust God we can step up and say He is my helper and not fear what man can do to me."
Deut. 31:6 "Be strong and of good courage, fear not nor be afraid of what others can do to me. For the Lord my God will go with me, He will not fail me, nor forsake me."
Psalm 118:6,7 "The Lord is on my side therefore I must not fear what any man can do to me. The Lord taketh my part with them who help me: therefore I will see my desire upon those that hate me."

What does God want you to know? First God tells me my marriage bed not only with my husband is to be kept pure but my relationship with my God is to be kept pure and unadulterated. In other words: God wants me to trust Him and keep my eyes on Him. He wants me not to get overtaken by the worlds ways. He tells me to lean on Him and be strong for He goes before me to protect me in every area of my life. I must learn not to fear what man can do but fear God more.


Stop and think about your dark times.

Have you even been in financial lost? Absolutely we have experienced financial loss at a time in our life when we had nothing but a cup of pinto beans and cup of rice. We had just moved to California and things were tough. A big layoff happened and all we had was that last meal but God came through. Not only was food provided but a job came at just the right time. God is good.

Have you lost a loved one? I lost my dear sweet grandma and it hurt me deeply to say goodbye till we meet again. I think of her often and the life she led and she was satisfied. I have lost many family and each time I see our childhood years with them slowly fading. But God has comforted me each time.

Have you suffered through a divorce? My parents divorced when I was 10 years old and it hurt deeply. But God has healed me from the loss I felt through it.

Have you been plagues by illness? Yes, this very day I struggle daily with an autoimmune disease. I have been sickly since I was a child. But again God gives me hope daily.

Look up the following verses:

Psalm 36:9 "The fountain of life within my soul will shine as a light to others."
John 1:4-9 "Jesus is the light of life, he was with God in the beginning and he is the Word. He created all things. Nothing was not made without him."
Psalm 37:23 "My foot steps are to be ordered by God and I find great joy in being a child of God."
Proverbs 16:9 "My heart may lead me on the path but God directs my steps. I can lose my way on my own but I will not get lost if God directs me."
Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation: is there anything I should fear? The Lord is my strength so why should I be afraid?"
Psalm 89:15 "It is a blessing to hear God's voice for I will be led by God to walk in his righteousness."
Psalm 119:105 "God's Word is a lamp to guide me to follow my God on His path of righteousness."

Take one of these verses and try to memorize it.

Write out a prayer of thanksgiving for they way
the Lord has been there for youduring the dark times. Dear Jesus I just thank you so much for being my guide to peace. Even though there were times I felt alone you were always before me guiding me and showing me a more excellent way. I thank you for bringing me out of darkness to your wonderful light that permeates my soul with loving kindness. Thank you Lord for those times I felt your presence when all around me was in darkness. I thank you Jesus. AMEN
