Lesson 2

Read Nehemiah (9:20-21)

What was provided? God provided instruction in the way they should go, he provided manna for their tummies and water to quench their thirst. They lacked nothing as they journeyed towards the promised land. Their clothes lasted and did not waste away and their feet swelled not. God met all their needs during the wilderness 40 year journey.
What does God provide for you? God provides me all that I need. When I am thirsty He gives me living water that satisfies my thirst for Him. He gave me Jesus from heaven that satisfied my soul. He has provided His Holy Spirit to remind me I am His and He is mine. He is my provider from my birth.

Read the 23rd Psalm again.

Lord Jesus guide me daily with your staff as I walk in paths of this world in which I live. Help me always to follow your voice and not to heed to a strangers voice. Help me to daily intake the rich food in your Word. Even though I may face terror, keep me safe in thy care. Thank you Jesus for inviting me into your flock. In Jesus Name. AMEN

Lesson 3

Look up the following verses and meditate on them.

Jeremiah 31:25 My soul is satisfied with Jesus when I am thirsty and when I am weak he feeds me His Word and I am strengthened.

Psalm 4:8 I can sleep, travel, go about my daily business and God will provide for my safety.

Proverbs 1:33 As God's Word takes root in my soul and I obey He assures me I am secure in Him and should not fear danger.

Isaiah 40:29 I may grow weary in this life and feel powerless but he is my source of strength in every part of my life.

What are our green pastures? My green pastures are the most blessed times when I am thinking of my Savior all day long. When I was driving and looking around all that my eyes could see, I felt God present and could see his hand on my journey. He presence is my green pastures. His Word is my green pastures. His Spirit is my unending presence for my soul. Right now He is my Shepherd and He is feeding me.

What keeps sheep from resting? Sin, self, and rebellion.

What do you do to rest in the Lord? I pray, seek Him, and study the Word. I claim promises and just trust in His taking care of what ever may come my way.

Say a prayer to thank God for how He gives us rest. Oh Lord you are most worthy of my praise and trust. I can come to you when all is falling down. I can come to you when joy comes in the morning. I can come to you when I don't understand your Word. I can trust you to take care of my life in your hands. Thank you Jesus for giving me that wonderful rest. In Jesus Name. AMEN
