A Mother’s Heart
May 1, 2004

When God created woman from the rib of a man God put in her the wonderful agape love. She is strong, intelligent, creative, can wear many hats at once, fixes boo boo’s, kisses broken hearts, wipes away tears, hugs consistently, has the greatest forgiveness for her children, loving hands that touch the soft cheek of a child, and has the challenge to teach her children about God’s wonderful love for them.

A mother has great influence in society, she is one who can complete difficult tasks, she can organize, she can delegate, and she can make decisions right on the spot.

The one wonder of a mother is the love she has for her children. She can look at a muddy little face and see beauty, she can turn a room into a delightful place to rest, she can fix the best hot chocolate with toast at bedtime, and she can teach a sweet child how to pray to God the Father.

A mother’s love cannot be destroyed no matter how hard circumstances become or how trying her children can be. She is the first one to claim a lost child, she is the first one to say he or she’s mine, and she is the first one who will pray with urgency on behalf of her children.

“He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.” Psalm 113:9
This woman finds joy in her family whether she is keeping house or caring for children.

“She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.” Proverbs 31:22
This woman is busy in creating beauty that God has gifted her with.

“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.” Proverbs 31:26
This woman has mastered self-control and she speaks nothing but kindness. When she is sought for advice wisdom comes forth to those in need of counsel.

“Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31:30
This woman has great faith and all her motivation comes from her open relationship with God her savior.

A mother is God’s gift to man. She knows and is confident in what God has given her to do. She is busy creating a haven of rest because she has discovered through her fear of God, her haven of rest. Remember, Mary the mother of Jesus…she pondered all things in her heart during his birth, death, and resurrection. A mother does hold all things in her heart and I consider that a gift from God to her.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY AND MAY GOD FILL YOU WITH HIS LOVE…
Remember: being a mother is God’s precious gift to you. Use it well.

Thank you Jesus for permitting us to be a mother or to love as a mother. May we fulfill what you have called us to do in this journey called life. Thank you for being our guide and showing us the noblest way.
