Lesson2
While we journey, there will be many crossroads. As mentioned in #4 listed above. We can look back and see those crucial turning points in our lives. Sometimes we don’t even know what is happening until we have gotten past that crucial point. You could say that each crossroad is a choice. A choice we must decide and then follow.
Jeremiah 6:16 NIV says " ' Stand at the crossroads and look....
ask where the good way is,and walk in it. and you will
find rest for your souls...' "

Jeremiah was talking to people of Israel, but they did not listen. So they suffered the consequences of being disobedient. The same happens to us. We are blessed to have a loving God that gives is chances.

Before we became Christian, we walked in the dark.
Look up the following verse.
Psalm 18:28>
The Lord God light will fill mammy as his child and will reveal the sin that I must repent and turn away from. He will turn my darkness into light.

Psalm 119:105>The Bible is mammy's light which will lead her down God's path of righteousness.

Psalm 27:1>When mammy is afraid, all she has to remember is the Lord gave her salvation which is her hiding place in which she no longer has to be afraid. He will give mammy strength to overcome with a confident faith.

Psalm 19:8>For mammy to know God's word and his commandments brings joy to her heart. For God's laws are holy and opens mammys eyes to righteousness.

Psalm 89:15>Mammy is joyful for she knows God's voice and follows him for he directs her path.

John 1:4>Jesus is light and when mammy received him into her heart his light came to take her darkness away.

John 8:12>Jesus tells mammy that he is the Light of the world and when she follows Him she will not walk in darkness but have the light of life within her.

John 12:35>Jesus shares that mammy must walk in the light or else darkness will overtake her and to walk in that darkness mammy will walk off the path Jesus has set before her.

John 12:36>Mammy knows while the gospel is still being spread throughout the world that she must believe so she can become a child of God.

Acts 9:3>As Saul was on his way to Damascus suddenly Jesus appeared in a great light to him.

2 Corinthians 4:6>God commanded the light to shine out of the darkness. God also is the one who draws us to Jesus through his light so that we can glorify God through Jesus Christ the one true light.

James 1:17>God is the giver of the good and perfect gifts to us. The gifts are more of God's light which comes down to us from heaven.

A major crossroad in our life is when we became Christians. For some of us it was a defined moment in our life. For others, it was a series of events that lead to a sure walk with God.Paul describes our journey as Christians like a race. We are all running towards the same goal (to be more like Christ) but we all have different courses, different paces and different running styles. One danger we all face is those who threaten to "cut in on" us. When someone cuts in on a race, the damage can be considerable. But the outcome can also depend on out response to the situation. This is were having the light of Jesus will help us through the obstacles of our walk.

What are the things that cut in on you and keep you from your walk?>There are many distractions in this life which seem to draw my attention. I recognize the more I learn in the word that I must keep my eyes on Jesus no matter what comes my way. So much entertainment, so many excuses I can use, even some friends who mean well can get me off track, old past sins, and just my human nature.

Can you see how you respond differently to obstacles now compared to when you were a new Christian?>Absolutely I can see a big difference in how I respond to circumstances and temptation. I may not run well physically but I am learning to run fast in the spirit when temptation comes.

What do you do when you mess up??>Well the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart pretty prompt when I mess up but sometimes my pride will keep me from dealing with it and confessing it. I feel pretty ugly when I do sin against God and when I finally confess my mess, I feel so clean and don't carry such a heavy burden around or on my back.

There will be times we will feel like we are in a dark place in our walk.
Stormie Omartian says "Sometimes what seems like the darkest step we've ever been on comes just before the brightest light we've ever experienced." "When David was taling about going through the valley of the shadow of death, he was in a dark time in his life. He did what we have to do and that is call out to the Lord and take His hand. So though we may feel we are in the dark, we reach out , take his hand and this we have enough light to take the next step. Sometimes we have to go through the dark valley's so that God can teach us to trust Him. Sometimes we have our greatest growth during this time.

Extra Credit :) Take some time out this weekend and read each other's testimonies.
