PSALM 24
June 2006
Recently we went to visit
my mother who lives up in the lake area of Northern California
. On the ride that day we had to go through wine country,
mountains, and many lake areas. I was amazed at what I
saw as my husband drove the very crooked road up a mountain
north of Calistoga. Everywhere I looked I could see all
types of trees, vegetation, and beautiful homes nestled
among those mountains. I feel so blessed to be able to
say, “The earth is the Lord’s” and I
believe we have the wonderful privilege to see the greatest
artist work.
I love this Psalm and it reminds me of
each time I look out my window or take a ride. “The
earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the
world, and they that dwell therein.” Psalm 24:1
When was the last time you looked upon
God’s creation and fully understood it is all His?
Can you just picture our mighty creator and how he created
all we have this very day?
“For he hath founded it upon the
seas, and established it upon the floods.” Psalm
24:2
Can we as humanity claim anything new
under this sun in which we draw for warmth? Even though
God has given man wisdom to see his creation…God
is still at work in the heart and imaginations of man.
The age in which we live in has many new inventions and
new scientific findings along with cures for diseases. “Who
is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King
of glory. Selah” Psalm 24:10

David as he wrote this precious Psalm
knew the King of glory personally and being a man after
God’s heart…he knew exactly where to put all
the glory in the presence of God.
“Lift up your
heads, O ye gates: and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting
doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” Psalm
24:7 As you think on this scripture…have
you opened the door to your heart to let the King of
glory enter in? You can do this everyday so that the
King can show you the beauty of His righteousness.
How can you enter in His presence? “Who
shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall
stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and
a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,
nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 24:3, 4
Seek the Lord this day and look to the
hills…enjoy being in his presence…and don’t
be afraid to enter into his abode.
Lord Jesus you are the King of glory and
may I never miss your presence or sweet voice as I gaze
at creation. Thank you for the mountains, the lakes, the
seas, the night skies, the clouds, the rain, and my family
all around. Help me to be a humble servant and point others
to you. In Jesus Name. AMEN
