Immanuel
Promise Fulfilled

Can
you just imagine after hearing in your home from an angel
that you are going to be part of God's promise and it being
fulfilled? This precious virgin espoused to marry Joseph of
the house of David has just been given the greatest news on
earth. I can't imagine all that would go through the head
in the days ahead but this we know from scripture that it
must be fulfilled. Yes, the family of David would have no
end.
This
promise made in the beginning in Genesis
3:16 was close to being fulfilled by Mary giving birth
to our Savior.
"For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government
shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counselor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince
of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace, there
shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,
to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice
form henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts
will perfom this." Isaiah 9:6,7
Again
I say, can you imagine that day when Mary growing up and instructed
in the ways of Almighty God would take part in this fulfillment?
Now
thinking on this: what are areas in your life does Jesus call
you to be used by Him to proclaim his Word? Do you question
the call or say yes Lord yes to your will and to your way?
Or do you doubt he can use you in proclaiming that He is God?
Wonder what went through Mary's head and she heard the best
news on earth?
Emmauel
was the child to come in Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold,
a virgin, shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his
name Immanuel."
What
does Immanuel mean to you? As you are approaching this wonderful
holiday that we set aside to remember Jesus Christ birth,
is Immanuel present in your home?
The
meaning of Immanuel is "God with Us" and for we
who know he is Savior of the world it brings pure joy into
our hearts.
Matthew
1:23 "BEHOLD, A VIRGIN SHALL BE WIHT CHILD, AND SHALL
BRING FORTH A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,
which being interpreted is, God with us."
God
is truly faithful to his promises. From Old Testament to this
very day he has kept his promises to us who desire to walk
with him in faith.
I
pray as you think on this wonderful moment in the history
of the world you will fully grasp God's gift of Jesus to you.
Remember, many generations of men and women had waited for
this wonderful promise and it was around the corner.
Have
you read God's Word and received the promise? How has it been
fulfilled in you life?
Father
God Almighty, I can't help but thank you for Immanuel our
Lord Jesus Christ. For with him we have life eternal and expect
his return in our lifetime. Oh, Father as we come upon this
most glorious time of the year, may each of us set aside all
the hustle and bustle and enjoy you being with us in our homes.
Help us to point to your promise that you would reign forever
and ever. Thank you Lord for allowing us the privilage to
be known as yours in your kingdom that has no end. In Jesus
the SON most wonderful name.
