HELP US O, LORD APRIL DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT I am sitting here today and my heart is broken for many young peoples parents, family's, school, and friends. As I am in prayer and deep thought I wonder what in the world is going on in America ... We can't even entrust our young adult children to be safe in their college's of choice. My heart just breaks when I think of what happened today in a college town back east. Lord God help all those who have suffered through this terrible tragedy. Comfort each person who expereinced such carnage and slaughter. I ask you Lord to wrap each one in your arms and hold them throughout the weeks ahead.
What do we do when our world is blown apart by the loss of loved ones by such an horrible crime? How do we gain strength when those we love have been removed from the living? I can't answer that from my human wisdom and pray I never have to confront such a terrible loss but I know someone who has compassion and knows how much you love the one you have lost ... Jesus Christ. While he was on earth ministering to the world earlier in time ... he touched many lives that never were the same after meeting him face to face ... He even raised a man named Lazarus to show us ... we will see our loved ones again.
I cannot even say anything that can make this horrible pain leave but I can as a fellow human being pray for those who have lost in such an American tragedy ... I am hearing so many why's??? ... But in all honesty I don't think any words will ease the loss in the hearts of all these young people's family's ... As we all face daily trials not one of us ever wants to face such tragedy ... I know many of God's people are gathering together and praying ... You will see through many of my pages that one of my favorite of scriptures is as follows: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14:1-4
To those who have lost I ask God to give you comfort and help you daily in the days ahead. To those who are like me observing and listening to what happened on April 16, 2007 ... I ask that we all stop and pray for those whose hearts are in shock and broken ... I also ask what we can do to make our country a better place to live and less shameful ... Let us all turn to God Almighty and seek his face ... God help us to be a nation of goodness and not shame. Help us Lord for we do not know what we do ...
