I am waking up and take notice it is very quiet outside. Then I hear a bird sing such joy as he celebrates the brand new day. As I lie there my mind goes from here to there and everywhere. Then in a split second I realize that it's time to thank the Lord for watching over me through the night and allowing me one more day to live here on this earthly journey.

So I do not want to ever forget to thank Jesus for his love and provision through the night. As I lay there still trying to wake up completely and get motivated to rise out of the bed, I can hear more movement outside of my home. Yes, the earth is waking up to a brand new beginning.

I thank you Lord for your mercy, grace, and love. I thank you Lord for my husband, children, grandchildren, and family. I thank you Lord that even though I have various aches and pains, I am rejoicing in you. I thank you Lord for the desire to be loved and to love others. I thank you Lord that today I can look with expectation knowing you will remind me throughout the day of your love for me.

Now I know this brand new day will be filled with challenges. I know that somewhere my faith will be tested. I know my life will be a reflection of Jesus Christ if I submit to him every aspect of my day.

Lord, no matter what comes my way, please help me to be a blessed peacemaker. If my heart is going to be set on you, empower me with your peace. Thank you Lord for I am your child. You call me by name. Thank You Lord

So Lord as I celebrate this brand new day I thank you for your guidance in all I do. And as I retire to bed for the night, grant me peace and comfort knowing I can rise tomorrow looking towards a brand new beginning with you.
