It's
that wonderful time of the year when all the leaves are blowing
in the wind and they are piling up all around our homes and
gutters. I love the mornings as the dew is beginning to settle
on the new green sheets of grass here in California.
It's
so neat to see all the pumpkin patches being organized and
ready for children to visit and choose the pumpkin the are
going to carve.

The
sunflowers all have been harvested along with the last of
the corn, tomato's, and all the delicious fruits.
As
I drive around I see people with jackets, pants, and knit
caps. Not that it is terribly cold but the weather is taking
on change.

When
I was a little girl I collected leaves like they were gold.
Today as I look at the leaves and their changing colors my
heart is taken back to my childhood.
Autumn
and fall are the time we snuggle close together at night,
put our lap blankets on our laps, and enjoy a warm cup of
cocoa or tea.

Many
churches plan harvest parties which add to our celebration
of the changing season.
"Pray
ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth
laborers into his harvest." Matthew 9:38
Even
though our Lord tells us of his harvest that is ripe for harvest,
he has blessed us throught he year with his blessings.
As
you plan for your winter days ahead remember the real harvest
is people who need Jesus. The true laborer shares the good
news in life when ever God opens the door for him.

May
this time of year find you searching for ways you can share
Jesus with those who celebrate Harvest Time.

May
the Lord bless your harvest time as you enjoy the new season
upon us. May God surround your children as you take them out
to gather candy. God watch and care over you.
