OUR FAMILY
In 1967 we would have never dreamed we would have such a special family. My husband came from Mississippi and I came from California. If opposites attract we sure fell for each other.
We had 2 children, 1 son and 1 daughter and life when they were at home was a challenge. Yet, as the years passed they had families of their own and we are thankful.
Our family number has increased in the years starting with our oldest grandson who is soon to report to basic training in the Navy at 18 years old. I cannot believe he is almost 19 years old. We feel so grateful to have him in our lives. His desire for the future is to become a Navy seal. We use to be worried because of the world's condition but we want him to go for what he desires. He is a lot like my husbands family. Has that southern look, strong, tall, and sturdy.
Then comes the oldest granddaughter. She is 16, beautiful, and petite. We watched her for 6 years while her mother worked and she was so much a part of our lives. She use to be a "papa's girl" but she grew up and is experiencing life as a teen. She has a job and even has a car to which she will soon drive. She hasn't really shared with us what her goals are but she will succeed in her dreams. She is strong minded and is fun to be around.
Then we have our other 16 year old granddaughter that is beautiful and tall. She is in home schooling and we pray she will excel through her studies. She use to want to be a model but we don't really know her goals at this time. She is best friends with her 16 year old cousin above and they really have a lot in common. What is funny is she use to be an introvert but now she is very outspoken these days. Could it be she is a teenager? She is a kick when we are around her.
Now comes the little one at the ripe old age of 8. She is outspoken, strong willed, and cute as a button. She has beautiful curly hair like her daddy and she really loves being the center of attention. She has just begun to read and is learning a lot about sharing. She loves to draw at which she looks to be a promising artist in the future. She rules with an iron fist or thinks she is charge of life. We truly get a kick out of her.
So that is a description of our family. From 2 children we have 4 grandchildren.
We know God has blessed us with these children and pray in the future He will call them to serve wherever He leads them.
A promise for family:
"Give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh." Proverbs 4:20-22
