As I think
about my childhood I remember Easter mornings were a joy and
full of excitement. My mother would dress us up in the prettiest
dresses or suits and we looked like a million dollars.
My sister
Debbie and I had on full dresses, gloves, hats, and patent
leather shoes. My brother Teddy Bear wore a cute little suit
with tie and shoes.
Our Easter
Baskets were beautiful but one thing that stuck in my heart
is that we had to go outside and find all the hidden surprises.

Our Easter's were filled
with love and even as we grew up we knew Easter was more than
eggs, candy, and new dresses or suits.
One time we even got little
chick's and we raised them and then one day it came time for
them to be either adopted or fixed for soup. Yes, we children
did not understand why our chicken had to be food but our
grandmother took on the responsibility.

As the story goes, nobody ate the
soup.
Today I have a different view of
Easter, yes, coloring eggs, candy, and hunting for special
surprises is wonderful. I can say that because I wouldn't
rob my grandchildren of such a special family time.

Yet, along time ago an event happened
that would forever change our world. Jesus Christ was crucified
on a cross and placed in a tomb. But to the amazemnet of his
followers he arose from the grave.
Today I stand on the faith that
Jesus Is Alive and Lives forevermore. Not only do we celebrate
Easter with family but we celebrate JESUS IS ALIVE. Imagine
someday after all is said and done, we will come face to face
with our Saviour.
Give your child a special time at
Easter but share what God done by raising His SON from the
dead. Easter is today...

Tradition is beautiful but Truth
is eternal.
Luke 24:46-48
And said unto them:
"Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer,
and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance
and remission of sins should be preached in his name among
all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses
of these things."
Easter is today
and death no longer has a hold on those who put their hope
in Jesus the risen Lord...
