Ever
had this question posed to you? “How have you been blessed
by God this week?” As a teacher of God’s Word
I have had the question asked of me and I too have asked that
simple question. The first response is this: bewilderment,
blank look, and then embarrassment.
I am
sure as you read this you have a half smile on your face.
Really? We all have faced that question. But really? I ask
how has God blessed you today?
Blessings
start with honoring our God and giving him the glory. You
are right now asking this, what? But its true, blessings are
residentially located in heaven with our God of blessings.
“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy
is the lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and
wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.”
Revelation 5:12

I love
the thought that we can give God blessing. For he is worthy
of all blessing, honor, and glory. We can give him blessing
because he gave us his Son, saved us, created us, gave us
family, brings us happiness to our souls, provides for us,
holds us in his hands, and that he provides for all our needs.
Yes, we lack nothing in Jesus Christ. The world may say we
lack but in Christ we have all things according to his will
and purpose.
“The
blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth nor sorrow
with it.”
Proverbs 10:22
Right
now think on how God has blessed you this very moment. Surrender
your thoughts to him and he will reveal his love for you.
Think on things not of this world but on what he has done
for you. Step outside at night and look up and say thank you
God for giving me life. Listen to the birds in the morning
and know God provides for them. Have yourself a good laugh
and smile at pictures of past memories. Yes, God gives us
joy and laughter. Think of his return to take us home. Yes,
the biggest blessing to his children on planet earth.
Today
I am blessed because my God has supplied all my needs for
this day and forever. Today I am blessed because I know my
Savior lives. Today I am blessed because he gives me peace.
Today I am blessed because he puts words in my heart to share
with you.
