Thanksgiving 2006

The very life God has given me is worth being thankful for ... I am learning to be thankful even in trials of life. Just this evening I have learned to accept the gift God has given me in which I have great emotions as I serve in God's kingdom. In listening to the pastor in our church and a dear friend ... God has called some of us to experience deep understanding in our Lord's kingdom work. Even though I am a secretary in the household of faith ... I see and hear many things which just tear my heart to pieces.

Yet, as I am stretched to grow up more in the faith ... I am thankful even when my heart has been broken. I love the scripture in Luke 9:23 where Jesus speaks to me personally: "If any man wishes to follow me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me." What a precious challenge in our lives that God has allowed us to apply. Christ Jesus was mocked, spat upon, falsly accused, walked on, punched, beard pulled, back beat, whipped, even he was once called "son of the devil" ... yet he did not answer but silently focused on the cross. I am so thankful for my Lord taking such abuse for my sin and the sin of all humanity. He did it for love ... not for see me ... look at me ... poor me! Jesus is our example of giving all ... He is the bright and shining star for all humanity to search and receive.

So I am thankful this precious holiday for the encouragement to do the work to which I have been called to ... encourage the saints, be slow to speak, ready to forgive, and always prepared to share Jesus the Christ. No matter what may come my way ... continue to look to the One and Only who died for me personally.

This Thanksgiving my heart will be ready to share my faith for God has showed us in His Word " the Harvest is Plentiful" and I must share my Lord. Its not about me, its all about Jesus the Christ.

I can't wait till Thanksgiving with my precious family ... it will be a day of rest but thankfulness as the Lord has been a very important part of our family's life. Yes, the good food, the laughter, the resting, the napping, the sharing, and most of all the "agape" love within us. I am so thankful that God has spoken his precious Gospel to each one of us ... and that is the best blessing on earth.
