Psalm 8

“O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens.” Psalm 8:1 How often to you glorify your Lord God? Is it when he does something spectacular or do you give him glory because he is God?

I remember when my grandchildren were small and how innocently they praised God and knew Jesus loved them. Nothing held them back from giving God glory. Their sweet spirit’s always could praise and sing about him. (Psalm 8:2) I use to sit and praise God for their innocence as they realized God was so big. We use to talk about God being the creator of the whole world and what we could not see in the night and day sky’s. (Psalm 8:3) Sometimes as I think of those days I cry because they have almost all grown up and that childlike faith has grown in each of them.

I do not understand that God would entrust us with his great salvation. I cannot comprehend how he has entrusted us with caring for the earth. (Psalm 8:4) As I think of my own salvation I cannot comprehend how God would see fit to trust me with the faith he has given me through Jesus Christ the SON. (Psalm 8:5) My heart cries with thanksgiving for God saving my soul. What about you? Do you recognize his work in your life? God has told us we are his instruments and he has given us the deed to care and maintain all his creation here on earth. WOW! (Psalm 8:6-8)

Join me in praising and giving glory to God for entrusting us humans to care for the creation here on earth. “O Lord our Lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth.” Psalm 8:9

It is an honor to carry the cross of Jesus in this life. To be entrusted with the Good News and being empowered to lead others to salvation is a blessing from our God. Today as you look up into the night skies, as you gaze upon the face of children, when you arise to a new day and look up into the day skies, as you seek the Lord with all your heart, as you tend to you assignments from him, and as you kneel and pray, is anything more excellent than giving God glory and praise? Nothing is more excellent.

Our God is an awesome God and He does reign on heaven and earth. Majesty worship his majesty as the song is sung by our lips. Give God glory for creating us this very day.

Lord I cannot even begin to give you the glory you deserve. For you have entrusted us with your gardening skills in this world in which we live. Help us to be worthy instruments that carry your name in our lives. Forgive us for not tending to the earth as you have ordained. Show us ways in which we can truly appreciate what you have given us. Lord I praise you for you are the Creator of all life. Thank you for the birds in the morning that sing and remind me you care for them. When I retire at night and look up in the night skies, thank you for the night light that guides me safely home. Oh, Father I cannot thank you enough for creating my family to nurture and care for. As you guided Israel in the desert you will guide me daily through your Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord that I am not left alone. Help us all to tend to what you have given us. In Jesus Name AMEN
