Psalm 21

January 11,2006

Last week I shared with you about trusting in the Lord and now its time to praise him for victories we experience every single day. It was such a joy to know God heard our prayers with regards to our traveling family members.

The only way to experience real joy is to see God fulfill prayers or petitions you bring within his sanctuary. “Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah” Psalm 21:2

Imagine a God that blesses those he loves? Yes my joy is complete when God hears me. Now not every prayer I raise up to him has an immediate answer but I know deep in my heart one will be coming according to his will.

What does it take to give you that eternal joy amid waiting on the Lord? Have you ever thought that life doesn’t have to be “hunky dory” to have joy in our Lord? I have found it many times in the darkest hour of life.

God has made it available and promises us our joy will be complete. When we cried out to him in our deepest hour of need he replied: “He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.” Psalm 21:4 Imagine God gives eternal life to those who call upon his name?

So we as God’s people understand what it is like to not be moved by life’s trials. Yes, for we continue to trust in the Lord for his Spirit leads us to that wonderful eternal peace. “For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.” Psalm 21:7

This also applies to when we are tempted to sin, we can safely trust and abide in the Most High and stand the test. Is there a sin Satan is trying to grip you to commit and you are weak? Trust in the Lord and you will not be moved to sin. His mercy is everlasting and ready at any moment to assist you in escaping the great tempter. When those arrows come flying at you unexpectedly, run to the Most High and find sweet shelter and peace. Then exalt the Lord for delivering you.

“Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.” Psalm 21:13

Lord not one of us is exempt from being tempted but you have provided a way that we can claim victory and find joy in thy power to overcome. Help me to not fight in my own power but to truly rely on your strength alone. I ask this in Jesus Name. AMEN
