David was not unfamiliar with the heathen
nations. What he meant is why are God’s people are being
pressed when you apply it to today? We are like David today
in our world. Today with all the terrorism and nations rising
up against nations we too may ask: why do the nations rage?
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people
imagine a vain thing?” Psalm 2:1
Today kings and kingdoms are raging war with
words and actions. We have hunger, terrorism, kidnappings,
and loss of life from the young to the elderly.
How can we make a difference where we live?
What are ways in which we can share our hope? God has promised
us if we abide in him that he will guide us and use us in
this world.
God is not mocked at all at
our world’s condition. He is very aware of the turmoil
within our lives. ”He that sitteth
in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”
Psalm 2:4
Every day I can see suffering
in many forms: hungry, homeless, sick, broken-hearted, and
just plain ordinary people. My heart finds it overwhelming
at times but this one thing I know: “Serve
the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.” Psalm
2:11 This is what gets me through the day knowing I
can serve the Lord and rejoice in how he can speak through
my life and the lives of others who serve him.
We as God’s people can share our hope
in this hurting world. We can reach out beyond ourselves and
share the Good News of Salvation.
“Kiss the Son, lest he be angry,
and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but
a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
Psalm 2:12
So how do we make a difference in the world?
By surrendering or submitting all to our Lord Jesus Christ.
For in this we can make a difference and give hope from right
where we are.
Do not let your heart get discouraged in these
times for our God is able to lift us up under his mighty hand.
Trust him and see what he can do through you.
Lord Jesus I know these days are growing short
and sometimes I get overwhelmed in the shadows of what is
to come. Lord I trust you knowing you are my help in these
present days. Help me to be the child you would have me to
be. May I live close to you daily in whatever I do. May every
moment of my life be useful to you and the furtherance of
thy gospel. I will put all my trust in you and be ready to
give the hope you have given me. I thank you Lord and may
I be instructed in thine ways. In Jesus Name AMEN
