Psalm 19
December 18, 2005
I love this time of the year for in California the golden hills have turned
green all around us. As I drive I can see God’s handiwork all around
me. The tree leaves have turned yellows, reds, and browns and lay all over
the ground. The first rains last week brought such a pure smell in the air.
I wake up and know my God is creator and the greatest artist known to man.
Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament
showeth his handiwork.”
When was the last time you praised God as you glanced upward to the skies?
Or when a flock of geese flew by speaking the language God gave them? What
about the first rain as it sang against the window of your home? How about
those winds that whip up all the leaves? Did you hear creation praise God?
We can praise God for he knew what man would need to guide him in his daily
life. Psalm 19:8 “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the
heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” What
a precious promise this week to claim and pray! Just think your life is not
futile and you have purpose.
Today in short, pray and give God praise for what He is doing and what He
will show you from this day forward.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart; be acceptable
in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
Next week is Christmas and I encourage you to remember the
star that led to the “Newborn King.” Praise God for the Nativity.
Yes the heavens praised the “Newborn
King.”
