Psalm
12
June 24, 2005
We witness wickedness every day.
All we have to do is put our ears on and turn on the TV. Now
David also lived in a time of great wickedness. He witnessed
maltreatment of the righteous. But I have to say David experienced
it in his own life as we have read this month.
I remember
a time in my life when I was being hotly pursued by the enemies
of God. I felt overwhelmed and I did not know how to pray
and what to pray. Then I talked with a pastor and godly friends.
I prayed: “Help Lord; for the
godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children
of men. They speak vanity every one with his neighbor: with
flattering lips and with double heart do they speak.”
Psalm 12:1-2
God immediately
gave me peace and I know he heard me but my fears started
up again after time. I started feeling very afraid of what
could happen as they pursued again. Then God showed me this
in his Word: “For the oppression
of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise,
saith the Lord; I will set him in safety for him that puffeth
at him.” Psalm 12:5

Praise the Lord through this ungodly
pursuit in my life God gave me a place of refuge and safety.
I know he did because the fear left and grace covered me with
confidence in what God would do. Yes, wickedness will prevail
but God will have the final say. Hallelujah! I can trust him
with my life whether I am at peace or being pursued.
“The word of the Lord are
pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified
seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve
them from this generation for ever.” Psalm 12:7
Oh my Father thank you for taking
me into thy safety when fear overwhelmed me. Help me to trust
in you but also not be afraid to pray and tell you about those
who are after me. I thank you Lord that you are my safety.
In Jesus Name. AMEN
Mammy
