Psalm 11
June 17, 2005
As I young girl I put my trust in
friends and it lead me to struggles I never wanted to face.
I remember the peer pressure and how it at times seemed unbearable.
For some reason most of the time I did not heed to those temptations.
Today as Christian’s we still struggle with whom and
what we trust in. God has revealed to us we can trust in him
no matter what challenges we face in this world.
“In the Lord I put my trust:
how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?”
Psalm 11:1
I was watching out my back window
and I heard the coos of the doves that always are on the power
lines by the house. I noticed every time the black birds or
crows land on the wire they flee. God is like that with us,
when danger pursues us we can flee into the safety of his
arms. I truly love that scene each time I see it for I am
reminded when things are overwhelming I can run to Jesus and
he is right there to rescue me.
Now when we were young
we ran to friends and as grown ups we run to the phone. What
we must learn is to run as fast as we can to our Lord and
Savior. We must realize the enemy is in hot pursuit to rob
us of God’s peace during temptation.

God is our only security
on earth. We can have armies, we can have money, we can have
houses, we can have lands, but the most secure place is a
firm relationship with Jesus Christ.
“For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance
doth behold the upright.” Psalm 11:7
You may go through trials
and not feel secure but remember our God sees all and permits
our trials in this life. “The
Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in
heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of
men.” Psalm 11:4
What a wonderful promise to us when
we feel alone in our trials of life. God is very aware and
in control of our eternity. He is there for us to put all
our trust in.
Lord we thank you that you are a
God who is aware of your children’s trials. Help us
in our daily lives to entrust you with our entire day and
may we praise you for you are our God forever. As we enter
thy presence fill us with thine love and righteousness. In
Jesus Name… AMEN
Mammy
