Psalm 10
June 10, 2005

When David was running from King Saul he felt he could call upon the Lord God Almighty and ask God to overthrow the enemies. David felt very alone as he ran from being killed from his best friend’s father. Imagine what went through his mind as he sought God’s safety?

David known as a man after God’s heart confidently prayed to God and asked him to break the arm of the wicked? “Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.” Psalm 10:15 David’s relationship was so close with God that he knew he could put it out on the table.

When you are being pursued by the enemies of thine soul, are you able to put it all out on the table? You can cry out to the Lord and tell him what is bothering you. A lot of times I struggled in telling God how I felt about the enemy pursuing my life but I know he heard for he brought deliverance. I thank God that he hears the prayers of honesty.

Verses 10-14 David brings his case before God and opens his heart telling all he is struggling with. We are to do the same thing in approaching our God in prayer. Nothing should be hidden for God knows our hearts and thoughts.

In praying to God there are steps to take so that your heart is ready to receive what he will instruct you to do. “Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear.” Psalm 10:17

So God desire us to humble ourselves before approaching him and seek his face. He desires us to have faith in knowing he has heard our prayers and believe that he will answer our prayers. God only hears a heart that removes pride, repents, confesses sin, and is ready for his cleansing power. So the confident we have when we approach him with a cleansed heart is that he will accomplish it if it’s his will.

Lord thank you for showing us in the Word David’s confidence in you while he was running from his enemies. Help me too to have that same confidence. Help me not to hide any evil in my heart but to seek thy righteousness through believing prayer. Now bless this day Lord and thank you for your Word.
In Jesus Name AMEN

Mammy
