Lesson3

Read Genesis 19:17- 26

What did God command them to do v:17

The angels guided Lot and his family out of the city one of them said: Escape for thy life; do not look behind you nor stay in the plain; run to the mountain for you will be consumed.

What is behind you that you want to turn back and look at that is bad for you?

The last 8 years in my church's life have been absolutely devastating but now that I realize God had plans through these firey trials I want to run the race with my eyes set forward with the hope he gave me when I was first met him at the cross. I now know to go back would bring great hurt and bad memories so I choose to go forward and trust God with everything in me.

Look up the following verses:
Psalm 27:14 "Mammy must wait on the Lord and have great courage for God promises to Mammy that he will strengthen her heart as she waits on him."
Psamls 33:20 "Mammy's soul waits for the Lord for he is her help and her shield."

Is there anything you are waiting for but God says wait?

To know that my children are in good hands and that they will find great happiness in their lives. I am waiting on the Lord for our grandchildren to have peace and happiness as they get older. That they will seek God in all things and that God will send down reminders that they are loved by him. Also: waiting on the Lord with regards to our church finding the right man of God who will lead, teach, and train us.

Can you share about something God gave you after you had been waiting for awhile?

God took away a fear from my heart when I felt very afraid to go to church. I really feared for my family's life in the church and now God has given me absolute courage to not fear what man can do to me.

What did you learn from the waiting experience?(Positive and negative)

There was nothing I could do but trust him even when leadership failed to do what the Word of God teaches. I had to finally come to a point when my life which has always been had to be placed in Jesus nail scarred hands. I had to run the race with courage as my breastplate, my shield of faith, my sword ready to reply by God's Word, and the wonderful assurance of the helmet of salvation. When I was ready and God spoke to me I put my shoes of the gospel and started sharing my faith regardless of all the attacks of satan. Waiting gave me the hope that no man could give. It gave me the assurance God knew all that was happening and what would happen. It showed me God had greater plans in store for my life. Waiting: yes it was worth it when I consider God working it all out for his glory.
