God With Us
December 25, 2005
Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring
forth a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which being interpreted
is, God with us.”
God fulfilled his promise to us and today we celebrate the nativity.
As you celebrate JESUS birth in your homes, set a time to share the true
story of Christmas. (Luke 2:1-20)
-
Plan in the day to share what it means to each family member.
-
Pray a short prayer thanking God for sending Jesus.
-
Bake a birthday cake together and share this special time teaching the
little ones Christmas is giving. Let them know God gave us Jesus.
-
Ask the question, what can we give the King?
These are things we have done in our home as my children were growing up.
Simple but it teaches our children the true meaning of Christmas.
I love Christmas but it has become so tainted in the world. My heart is
sad for many who do not know the true meaning.
In short: pray for our neighbors, our country, and our world to be receptive
to Immanuel. Ask God to use you during this season to lead someone to the
manger. Tell them the wonderful story of the first Christmas. Invite them
to receive the Gift.
Lord I pray for anyone today who reads these little thoughts. I ask that
you make it quite clear about your wonderful gift to man. JESUS. If their
hearts are seeking, draw them to you Lord and may they comprehend that you
can live in them. We thank you Lord for the Gift of Jesus and may we never
stop celebrating the Nativity. In Jesus Name I pray. AMEN
