August & September 2009 My Heart Says To Glory In His Wisdom
Wisdom, to whom do we get our wisdom from? From what book can we find wisdom? How can we apply wisdom? As I work and serve in my church many people whom I love boast a lot. I do not understand this boasting for we are told to boast in the Lord. Not in our marriage, children, work, accomplishments, but in Jesus Christ. We can be thankful for all those things but in all, boast in the Lord for he is the One True God who is worthy. How can we glorify the Lord if we rob Him of glory? How can we raise our banners if we raise them up and draw attention to ourselves? This may be hard for some to grasp for it will go straight to the heart and when one asks? Did I do a good job or how did is sound? I wonder even within myself...How can I accomplish anything if I don't run to the one who is my source, my strength, my victories, my accomplishments, my life? Praise God for the prophet Jeremiah who was a hero who told it like it was...God doesn't desire our burnt offerings of self-efforts or great accomplishments, he desires us glorifying him in all we do and accomplish. We as God's people should really examine our heart for it was never about me or us or them...It's all about Jesus...That is it! I like the book that Max Lucado wrote: It's Not About Me. We are told God is a jealous God yet we as human beings have to have these love pats, or love bombing, or acknowledgements about we did something. What about the simplicity of knowing, we are children of God and should not that be sufficient? The field is white for the harvest not white for competition...The field is white for hearing the gospel, not to tickle itching ears, the field is white for reaching hurting people, not for showing favoritism, the field is white to enter in a time of winning the lost, not running them off. How can I make a difference? By considering what the Lord says: don't glory in man or accomplishments but glory in the Lord who has called us by name. To treat the hurting soul with dignity, to reach out to poor and rich, to preach the pure gospel, and most of all to "win the lost." THIS IS WHAT PLEASES GOD... Written from the heart, inspired by the Word, and willing to speak forth knowing I may be judged for sharing this...but God is not the author of fear and I will stand on His Word.
